St. Agnes Harvest Festival Features Roller Mill String Band

The Roller Mill String Band will entertain at the St. Agnes Harvest Festival Saturday, October 4. This special celebration of fall will take place at the St. Agnes Historic Site located at 1386 Fond du Lac Street in West Bend.

The Roller Mill String Band is known for their lively interpretation of bluegrass and traditional American music. Comprised of some of the most powerful "pickers" from several bluegrass bands in Southeastern Wisconsin, The Roller Mills String Band features hammered dulcimer, guitar, base, and mandolin. Other event entertainment includes the Swingin' Singles Squares who will present traditional square dancing, and historical reenactment of life in 1850's Washington County.

Hungry visitors will be sure to enjoy the Knights of Columbus Brat fry, and the amazing assortment of bakery donated by the Sisters of St. Agnes located in Fond du Lac.

The St. Agnes Harvest Festival fundraiser is the only time that this historic complex will be open to the public in 2008. The event will be held rain or shine from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, and includes entrance to the site as well as tours of the convent and school, rectory, and barn. St. Agnes Historic Convent and School Complex is owned and operated by the Washington County Historical Society.
