Ghosts and Ghouls Abound at the Old Courthouse Museum

Enjoy a few shivers and shrieks at the Washington County Historical Society
’s “Ghosts of Washington County.” This year’s scary celebration ta kes place Friday October 24 and Saturday October 25. Friday evening featur es haunted jail tours for the 12 and over crowd. Saturday is a family frie ndly event with lots of Halloween history and fun. This year’s celebrati on is sponsored by Lori’s Costume Shop of West Bend.

Don’t miss the first ever Jail tour for the brave at heart. Experience t he ghostly graveyard, roaming Igor, and other ghosts and ghouls. This tour
 is brand new, and not for the faint of heart. Admission is $5 per person.

Saturday, October 25 features kid friendly haunted jail tours beginning at 6:30p.m. At 7:00 p.m. a special dramatization of Edgar Allen Poe’s “Th e Masque of the Red Death” will be performed in the Old Courtroom. This year’s Poe presentation features narrator Jeff Walters and the Ballroom D ance Students from the University of Washington County.

The fright continues Saturday with “real” Washington County ghost stori es, with the audience invited to share their own paranormal experiences. T he evening concludes with a special costume contest for kids 12 and under.
 Costume categories include scariest, super hero, story book, historical, a nd most colorful. Special celebrity judges include Downtown West Bend Exec utive Director Josie Minskey, and West Bend Mayor Kristine Deiss. Prizes w ill be awarded, and treats will be available.

Don’t miss this opportunity to have a howling good time at the Old Courth ouse Museum. Friday October 24 haunted jail tours are $5 per person. Satu rday October 25th’s “Ghosts of Washington County” is $5 per adult and
 $2 per child.
