Historical Society Opens New Museum
The Washington County Historical Society is proud to announce the opening of
the West Bend Co./Regal Ware Historic Museum main gallery. A gala for
donors, friends, and volunteers will be held Thursday November 13, at
7:00p.m. The museum will be open to the general public Friday November 14.
The main gallery was designed by Spolar Studio of Milwaukee, Wis. This
innovative space is different from any other historic venue in the area.
Consisting of Aluminum, Copper, and Stainless Steel the gallery's design
features showcase the collections from West Bend Company and Regal Ware,
Inc. The Washington County Historical society is now planning the second
phase of the project that includes a test kitchen in the lower level and an
elevator.
The West Bend Co./Regal Ware Historic Museum is the newest historic venue in
Washington County. Telling the story of the Aluminum Industry, women's
history, and American consumerism, this facility has local as well as
national merit. With the popularity of cookware garnered from such outlets
as the Food Network and the recent rise in the interest in collecting
vintage housewares, It is anticipated the museum will draw guests from not
only Washington County, but from larger city centers as well. If you would
like to be a part of this exciting new project, please contact the
Washington County Historical Society.
The museum is located at 18 E. Washington and will be open Wednesdays,
Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Admission is $4 per
adult, $2 per child, not exceeding $10 per family.
