Junior History Explorers Ready to Investigate

The 2009 Junior History Explorer program is now open for registration. Students in 3rd through 5th grade during the 2008-2009 school years are invited to join this fun and educational program. Junior History Explorers meet one Saturday morning every other month for history based activities. Registration is only $25 per child, and covers all costs for each program.

In February, Explorers will learn the history of how plants, animals, and humans have communicated throughout history. A trip to Riveredge Nature Center to study glaciers is scheduled for May. In August Junior History Explorers have a chance to be "Indiana Jones" as they participate in an archaeology adventure at Lizard Mound County Park. History explores fantasy in November as kids examine the differences between fact and fiction.

To register your explorers contact Education Curator Jessica Sawinski-Couch at the Washington County Historical Society to receive a registration form. Registration and payment need to be returned to the society by January 16, 2009.
