Seeds of the Past Sowing the Future
When faced with the economic difficulty of feeding a family, many are
turning to backyard gardens to support the household food budget. Gardening
for sustainability doesn't need to be mundane. Learn how to spice up your
garden project at the Washington County Historical Society's Heirloom
Gardening program Tuesday, May 19, at the Old Courthouse Museum. This
program is free and begins at 7:00p.m. Complimentary light refreshments
will be served.
Special guests Mary Ann Ihm from Wellspring and Shirley Decker of the West
Bend Beautification program will discuss heirloom gardening techniques for a
unique flower and vegetable garden. Heirloom gardens offer unusual color
and variety. Not only do they serve a practical purpose, but these gardens
are a living part of the past. Come and learn about adding heirloom
varieties to your spring gardening plan.

Historical Society, please call Lisa Rogers at 262-335-4678.
