I just want to add in something regarding funding as well. I know many
of us may have sites that are owned by one organization and run by
another as well as other creative ownership ideas. Don't forget to
include the "in-kind" values that you receive from those groups that
provide free rent and/or utilities as well as including trade values,
etc. For example, our office is in our county courthouse so every year
I check what the state and federal offices pay per year to rent their
spaces in the same building and include that in my donor reports. It
doesn't sound like it should matter, but when you can show a potential
donor or on a grant application these figures, it comforts them to know
that someone is donating to your group and has built a relationship with
you of trust and understanding.
