Invites Public to Step Back in Time
Ever wonder what it was like to live in the 1800s? The grounds of the Histo
ric Indian Agency House will host a living history encampment on Saturday
, August 15th from 9AM to 4PM. Several “learning stations” manned by
experienced, costumed interpreters will be sprinkled across the Agency Ho
use fenced lawn. The regular guided tour fee ($6 adults, 5$ seniors and A
AA, $3 students) will cover admission into the yard and access to all lea
rning stations, as well as special tours of the Agency House museum itsel
f. Among other reenactments, visitors will enjoy watching musket firing d
emonstrations (scheduled for 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM) and a pit saw in actio
n, and will get to speak face-to-face with Juliette Kinzie, General Hen
ry Dodge, and other historical figures. This event, “Up Close and Per
sonal: Living History at the Agency House” is a perfect fit with Friendsh
