Uncover Family Secrets
Ever wonder where your great great grandmother is buried? Is there a family
mystery surrounding your ancestor's death? Did anyone in the family fight
in the Civil War? Discover how to solve family mysteries at the Washington
County Historical Society's bimonthly meeting, "Genealogy 101," Tuesday,
September 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
This special introduction to genealogical research is led by genealogist
Joan Hepp. Ms. Hepp has over twenty years of experience in genealogical
research, and has a wealth of information and tips on how to get started on
your own family history project. The program will also include discussion
of the society's Research Center. The Research Center holds records,
photographs, maps and other historical documents. There are also trained
patron assistants who can provide one-on-one help with research. The
Research Center is free for members. Non members are charged a daily usage
fee.
Everyone is invited to attend this event. Genealogical information packets
will be available for free to society members. Non-members may purchase a
packet for $3. Complimentary refreshments will be served. Take some time
to become a family history sleuth at the Old Courthouse Museum. For
questions about this event or the Washington County Historical Society
please call 262-335-4678.
