Pioneer Kids Day - Railroads
Kids in 1st through 5th grades don't want to miss Pioneer Kids Day Thursday,
August 12, from 8:45 to noon. Learn about railroading in Wisconsin through
crafts, songs, and activities. Register by August 1 and pay only $6 per
child. After August 1the cost is $7 per child.
Some of the activities planned for this unique morning of historical fun
include a scavenger hunt, crafts, and sampling "Mulligan Stew." Kids will
also learn railroad songs, check out model trains, and much more. All of
the scheduled activities will take place at the Old Courthouse Museum
located at 320 S. 5th Avenue in West Bend.
Pioneer Kids Day is an outstanding program that has been produced by the
Washington County Historical Society since 1995. Created by volunteers, this
program has presented the life of Lumber Jacks, Settlers, Homesteaders, and
the Wild West - just to name a few. All the activities are based on an
exciting theme and are tied back to Wisconsin and Washington County.
Space for this special event is limited. For more information or to
register call Jessica at 262-335-4678, or download a registration form at
www.historyisfun.com.
