Sustainable Preservation: Process and Practice Madison, WI — June 2, 2011 in cooperation with The Wisconsin Historical Society

Discuss the process and practice of using sustainable preservation strategi es for historic structures. The environmental goal of “reduce, reuse, rec ycle” can enhance the capital cost competitiveness of preservation projec ts. Review the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standar ds used to assess building performance. Focus on preservation challenges re lating to energy efficiency, windows, lighting, indoor air quality, HVAC, a nd local and national codes and regulations. Instructor. Tina Roach, AIA, LEED AP, associate at Quinn Evans Architects, in Washington, DC, specializing in preservation technology and sustainable design; accredited for LEED NC 2.1/2.2
