Subject: Civil War Volunteer Needed
Dear All:
We are currently planning a Sept. 10, 2011 Civil War children's Union Soldi
er Training Camp, but are still in need on one vital element--a Civil War r
eenactor/enthusiast/expert, preferably one with a Civil War uniform.
Part of the day's activities are to include a marching and drill exercise,
which the children will then perform for their families at the end of the d
ay. We would really appreciate having someone to lead this activity. (Each
child will be "issued" a wooden rifle and soldier's cap to help them get "
into character" for the day, and these "props" will also be used for the en
d-of-day review for their families.)
My staff, volunteers and myself feel fairly comfortable leading the rest of
the day's activities, but the marching and drill work would be an entirely
new thing for all of us.
If you know of anyone with the Civil War knowledge and skills who might be
willing to help us out, please let me know ASAP by phone (608-742-6362) or
email (destineekae@hotmail.com<mailto:destineekae@hotmail.com>) . We do ha
ve a small amount of money available to help offset traveling expenses for
such an individual, if that is an issue.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide!
Best Wishes,
Destinee K. Udelhoven
