Back to School - The 'Ole Fashion Way!

On Sunday afternoon, August 21st, 1:30, Waterloo Area Historical Society/Mu seum, Waterloo, Wisconsin, will review how school was like 1843 on...as written in "The Historic One-Room, One-Teacher Schools in the Waterloo Area" book published in 2009. Mikki Hensler Dempsey, Lucy Bibow Hanson, Kathleen Gay Lawrence, and the late Ronald L. Giese worked diligent ly to collect stories, write and gather pictures from around the area. Com e and add your memories! Twenty-one One Room Schools are included in the b ook, location, pictures and comments. David W. Strauss, a teacher of Faville Grove One Room School will review hi s experiences of what school was like, teaching every subject, what tests
 students had to take before graduating from eighth grade, etc. Come and share your stories of learning in a one room school! If you haven't purcha sed the One Room School Book, a few copies are available. They make wonder ful gifts for that special Aunt, Grandmother, or Uncle that attended a one room school.
