Subject: Accessioning Minerals/Rocks
From: Sara Nuernberger <snuern@gmail.com>

The Taylor County Historical Society has had a collection of minerals/rocks donated. The curators have not accessioned this type of material before, so we are looking for suggestions and ideas on how to store them. Also need information on how to to number them with our accession numbers. Should they use the one main accession number and then add a .1, .2, .3 etc to the end for each specimen? Should they break the accession numbers down in to time periods? Ex. Early Woodland, Late Woodland

Thanks. Sara Nuernberger Board Member Taylor County Historical Society Medford, Wisconsin
