Hello everyone.
I thought I would forward the info about this excellent program. Deadline
is coming up quick! I was fortunate to participate in it last year. If
anyone has any questions about the Institute for Cultural Entrepreneurship

Anne Ackerson brings to light leadership needs
America has been in the grips of the baby boom generation ever since the
first baby was born in 1946. From their first zit to mid-life crisis, they
have defined every life era through which they collectively have passed.
Now, with an eye on retirement, they are about to do it again.

information gathering activities that gauge leadership and management trends
and issues in the statewide museum field, resulting in white papers and
publications. One of the white papers that surfaced in 2005 was "Who's Next?
Questioning the Future of Museum Leadership in New York State" by Joan
Baldwin. The paper looked at what will happen to the state museum industry
as boomers, comprising about 25 percent of the state museum work force,
retire by 2020. Who will be the next generation to step up and fill the void
boomers leave? Two of MANY's board members, Pamela

need to start a mid-career leadership training program for professionals who
can take the helm at museums as boomers retire. Together, the three sowed
the seeds for creation of the Institute

this project," Anne said. She also is co-authoring a book on history museum
leadership for AltaMira Press under the American Association for State and
Local History imprint that will be published in 2013.
At ICE, Anne presents on exploring ways to develop an entrepreneurial
board and leads discussion and exercises on how to prepare your co-workers
to be part of the entrepreneurial process.
During Anne's nearly-40-year career, she has served as director of several
historic house museums and historical societies in central and eastern New
York.
Anne's efforts at MANY concentrate on promoting professional standards and
best practices, providing resources to help museums strengthen board
governance and staff leadership, and educating public officials about the
educational and economic impact of the state's nearly 2,000 chartered
museums and historical societies.
