It's That Time Again!
The Historic Indian Agency House Christmas Parties Make
Their Festive Annual Return!
Portage’s Historic
Indian Agency House of Portage rings in the 2012 holiday season with the re
turn of two
popular events.
This year’s Kiddie
Christmas will be held Wednesday, December 5th, from 4 to 6 pm in
the Visitor’s Center. Participants at this free event will make old-fashi
oned
Christmas ornaments to decorate the Agency House tree and design a “stain
ed
glass” candleholder to take home. Apple cider and treats will refresh you
ng
guests, and Santa Claus is scheduled to stop by at 4:30! All goodies and
activity
materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis; doors
open
promptly at 4:00. The event is free as
always, with donations strongly encouraged and gratefully accepted.
The following evening,
on Thursday, December 6th, from 6 to 9pm, the Agency House hosts its
annual holiday fundraising gala. Guests of “Christmas at the Kinzies” w
ill
enjoy a nostalgic night of good food, hearty drink, and excellent conve
rsation.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the young and talented Nicholas a
nd
Cody Santas on the violin, performing renditions of your favorite holiday
tunes.
The evening’s Silent
Auction will again offer a variety of memory-making experiences and unique
items. The featured package is “Tour
& A Tasting”: next spring, be among the first to experience the newly
re-interpreted guided tour and newly refurbished interior of the restored 1

, the
winning bidder and up to five special guests will enjoy stimulating, refl
ective

rearranged to protect all artifacts and accommodate this special occasion.
This
package also includes an entertaining “kit” of six wine glasses, chee

of wine, and two gourmet cheeses. Other items up for bids include one-of-
