The Seventh Annual Local History-Historic Preservation Conference will be h
osting a special session 9:15 am, Saturday, Oct 12, entitled Tax Exempt Sta
tus: How to Get It, And How to Keep It. We will have two accountants from t
he firm of Clifton Allen Larson, Middleton, Wisconsin. CliftonLarsonAllen i
s the 9th largest public accounting firm, and it's focus is on not-for prof
it organizations, state & local governments and privately held businesses a
nd their owners. Here are our presenters' bios:
Kimberly Anderson is a Tax Partner at CliftonLarsonAllen. K
im specializes in not-for profit organizations, including; complete and ac
curate 990 reporting, obtaining and retaining tax-exempt status, structure,
unrelated business income, intermediate sanctions and other consulting. Ki
m is involved in the firm's national not-for-profit tax leadership group.
Kim has a masters in taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and
regularly attends the Georgetown Law School's "Representing and Managing Ta
x-Exempt Organizations".
Kari Jensen is a Tax Manager at CliftonLarsonAllen and has seven years of p
ublic accounting experience. Kari specializes in tax planning and return re
view for large and mid-sized businesses with a focus on nonprofit organizat
ions. For the past four years Kari has concentrated on tax reporting requir
ements for nonprofits and has kept up to date with the ever evolving change
s in nonprofit tax reporting. Kari has a master's degree in professional a
ccountancy at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
