"In January of this year, Holland brought the chest to Ann Waidelich, the c
urator at the Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society on the east side o
f Madison.
"The HBGHS decided that it didn't fit in with our collection and we offered
to find a better 'home' for it.," Waidelich said. "I put the word out on t
he Local History List Serve run by the Wisconsin Historical Society and tha
t is how we made contact with the Mason Area Historical Society where it no
w resides."
