Historic Gun safety for the Museum World August 16th 1-3pm Located at Douglas County Historical Society 1101 John Ave Superior WI, 54880

*** THIS EVENT IS FREE AND FOR MUSEUM STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS********

Speakers include:

Jason Koen former employee of Puglisi's Gun Emporium

Detective Michael Jaszczak from the Superior Police Department

Milissa Brooks- Ojibwe from Glensheen Mansion

Briana Fiandt from the Richard I Bong Veterans Historical Center

We will be discussing the appropriate handling for weapons that may enter your museum, or may already be there.

Detective Michael Jaszczak will be discussing general weapon handling, and also touch on the services you can reach out to your local Police Department for.

Jason will be touching on gun collections from the collector view point, while Milissa and Briana will be speaking about guns from the museum point of view.

Our goal to make sure each person at the seminar will walk away with more confidence on how to safely store and display the guns in your collection.

There will be time for discussion and questions regarding your own collection, so if you think it would be helpful I would suggest bringing photos of your guns and storage.

Side note Jason and Briana are going to bring some examples of historic guns from their collection!!

Please bring your institution's brochures so that DCHS will be able to display them for visitors.

Hope to see you all there!
