Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board
Travel & Conference Scholarship
The Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board, in conjunction with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, has allocated $1,800 annually in scholarship aid to support continuing archival education for graduate students and archivists. The Board will award up to six $300 scholarships, assisting individuals to attend either (1) the Midwest Archives Conference annual meeting or Fall Symposium, or (2) the Wisconsin Historical Society's annual Local History & Historic Preservation Conference.
Eligibility: Applicants must be individuals who are full-time (minimum of 9 credits) graduate students currently enrolled in a Wisconsin institution of higher education, or archivists currently working (or volunteering) in the archival profession in Wisconsin. Recipients are eligible for a Board scholarship no more than once each calendar year, and must use the funds to attend one conference indicated on attached application. No advance payments will be made; recipients will be reimbursed for conference-related expenses supported by documentation. Recipients are solely responsible for any tax obligations.
For consideration: completed forms must be received no later than Tuesday, February 14, 2017 for spring conferences, and no later than Friday, September 8, 2017 for fall conferences. Applications received after respective dates will not be considered. Recipients will be notified by phone or email of their status by Monday, March 13 for spring conferences, and Monday, September 25 for fall conferences.
