Subject: Governor's Archival Awards - Invitation to Nominate - from the Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board
Dear Friend:
The Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board and the Wisconsin Historical Society invite your nominations for the 2017 Governor's Archives Awards. We offer three categories of awards for institutions or individuals whose work is distinctly archival in nature:
Governor's Archival Achievement Award - recognizing a historical records repository that has made an outstanding contribution to the archival profession or a notable achievement of value to the archives community, its patrons, or constituents. The activity or contribution nominated must be for current and continuing work.
Governor's Archival Innovation Award - recognizing individuals or organizations that successfully experiment with new ways to demonstrate the significance or relevance of historical records for understanding the past, or who utilize historical records to reach new audiences. The activity or contribution nominated must have occurred within the last three years, and may be continuing.
Governor's Archival Advocacy Award - honors an individual or organization in Wisconsin or elsewhere for notable contributions to Wisconsin archival programs through organizational leadership, public advocacy, and financial or volunteer support. The nominated individual or organization must be advocating for Wisconsin programs. The activity or contribution must be for current and continuing work that is continuing.
The Governor's Award recognizes outstanding work done with Wisconsin's historical records. These awards honor individuals, organizations, and formal programs that make distinctive contributions to historical records preservation and access.
