Sunday in the Cemetery – Living History Tour
June 25
Many fascinating stories will once again come to life at the Sunday in the
Cemetery – Living History Tour which will be hosted by the Sauk Cou
nty
Historical Society on June 25th at 2 pm at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
Tour participants will be guided through the cemetery to hear the stories
of nine people of the past from costumed re-enactors. From an Irish
immigrant who survived a shipwreck to a young lady whose family plot is
marked by a sculpture created by a famous Italian artist, personal stories
of triumph and tragedy will come to life at Walnut Hill. Tour tickets are
available in advance in Baraboo at the Corner Drugstore, Baraboo Area
Visitors Center and the Sauk County History Center and in Reedsburg at the
Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will also be available the day of the tour at
the cemetery and are $10 per person. There is a $2 discount for Society
members. For more information contact the Society at 608-356-1001.
SCHS would like to thank its generous event sponsors which include Baraboo National Bank, Corner Drug Store, Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, Terrytown Plumbing and Johnsen Insurance.
