Spinning for Beginners: Yarn-Making Workshop
for Kids
Saturday,
March 3
9am - 12pm
Learn about the ancient art of spinning. Kids all over the world still practice this method of making yarn for clothing; and you can too!
Make your own drop spindle, sand it, and decorate it with acrylic paint. Then touch raw wool and see some of the processes the wool goes through before spinning. We'll stop for a snack break, before learning to use your new drop spindle to spin some fun and funky yarn!
Rebecca Boelhower Santi will lead this class; she is the co-owner of The Cat and Crow (Mount Horeb's yarn headquarters!). She has taught many children's classes and workshops over the years, including knitting, spinning, felting and more.
Kids age 8-12 will have a great time in this workshop.
$40 fee ensures your reservation and includes a drop spindle,
a small snack, and some fiber to take home to keep practicing!
Call 608-437-6486 or email mthorebhistory@mhtc.net
to make your reservation,
Class minimum of 3/maximum of 14.
Registration closes Monday, February 19.
