MHAHS will be hosting a “Collectors & Collections” Open House & Speaker at the new Driftless Historium on Saturday, April 28 from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.

MHAHS will be hosting a “Collectors & Collections” Open House at the ne w Driftless Historium on Saturday, April 28from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. At t his free show-and-tell event, visitors will peruse the treasures of local c ollectors, who will be on hand to answer questions about how, when and why they built their collections.

“Passion to Preserve” and no stranger to Stuff himself, will present on
 the extraordinary involvement of gay men in preserving the material cultur e of the past. In his photo-illustrated talk. Fellows will give an overview
 of the book and discuss the sensibilities and values that inform the gay m ale penchant for preservation. He will also share some thoughts about his o wn collecting focus, illustrated with selected pieces from his collection o f 19th century lusterware.

There will be a limited number of copies of "Passion to Preserve: Gay Men a s Keepers of Culture" available for sale and signing.
