Open House & Speaker at the new Driftless Historium
on Saturday, April 28 from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.

w Driftless Historium on Saturday, April 28from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. At t
his free show-and-tell event, visitors will peruse the treasures of local c
ollectors, who will be on hand to answer questions about how, when and why
they built their collections.

Additionally, that Saturday at 2:00 p.m., author Will Fellows, author of
“Passion to Preserve” and no stranger to Stuff himself, will present on
the extraordinary involvement of gay men in preserving the material cultur
e of the past. In his photo-illustrated talk. Fellows will give an overview
of the book and discuss the sensibilities and values that inform the gay m
ale penchant for preservation. He will also share some thoughts about his o
wn collecting focus, illustrated with selected pieces from his collection o
f 19th century lusterware.
There will be a limited number of copies of "Passion to Preserve: Gay Men a
s Keepers of Culture" available for sale and signing.
