Alec Thicke, MHAHS Intern and University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Lib
rary & Information Sciences student, provides an overview of the recently a
cquired Little Norway archival collection (a forward-thinking gift of the S
cott Winner family). As part of a University-required professional residenc
y, Thicke has spent much of this summer sorting, inventorying and preparing
a research guide for this wide-ranging and historically significant collec
tion of photos, family papers, business and artifact records and more.
Hear about and see "star peices" of the collection -and a few Alec Favorite
s!, and learn about the possible ways the collection might be used now and
in the future to inform our understanding of Dane County and Wisconsin hist
ory, recreation and tourism industry history, ethnic studies and folk and f
ine art studies.
