FYI

Dear Everybody, the Foundation Center (located in New York city) gets the t ax records of the foundation in the U.S. and uses the info on those tax for ms for their _Foundation Directory Online_ database (_FDO_)—it has info o n over 100,000 foundations, so it is extremely comprehensive.

While a lot of nonprofits subscribe in order to access the _FDO_, everyone can access it for _free_ at any of the “Funding Information Network” (F IN) members, of which there are seven in Wisconsin.

See the info below which describes how comprehensive the _FDO_ database is.

FIN locations in Wisconsin include:

UW-Superior’s library; Eau Claire Public Library; La Crosse Public Library; Lawrence University’s library (in Appleton); UW-Stevens Point’s library; UW-Madison’s Memorial Library (728 State Street); Marquette University’s library (in Milwaukee).

To locate the exact details about the Foundation Center’s FIN nearest to you, see their entry in the FIN directory webpage at this URL (including wh en they are open, etc.):
