  * Grants Deadline (January 15): African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund

The fund supports work in four primary areas: Capital Projects, Organizational Capacity Building, Project Planning, and Programming and Interpretation. Grants made from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund will range from $50,000 to $150,000. In 2020, the National Trust awarded $1.6 million to 27 projects.   * Forum Webinar (January 28): Preservation Advocacy During the First 100 Days of the Biden Administration and the 117th Congress

Share your ideas on a range of topics such as affordable housing, equitable development, climate change and organizational development. The conference also provides speakers a way to spotlight new partnerships, technology and methods that are getting results. Submit your proposal by February 1, 2021.

  * Applications Deadline (February 1): America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places

If you know of an important site across the country that could benefit from the national spotlight that only the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places program can deliver, please consider submitting it for the 2021 list. Since 1988, the National Trust has used its list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places to raise awareness about the threats facing some of our nation's greatest treasures. The list, which has identified more than 300 sites to date<https://savingplaces.org/11most-past-listings>, has been so successful in galvanizing preservation efforts that less than five percent of these sites have been lost. When evaluating a potential site for inclusion on the list, we consider a range of factors, including its significance, whether there is a local group engaged in its preservation, the urgency of the threat the site faces, and potential solutions to that threat. These efforts include citizen attempts to save and maintain important landmarks; companies and craftsmen whose work restores the richness of the past; the vision of public officials who support preservation projects and legislation in their communities; and educators and journalists who help Americans understand the value of preservation.

  * Grants Deadline (March 1): Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors

Mitchell made a generous gift to the National Trust for Historic Preservation to establish the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors in honor of his wife. The purpose of the fund is to assist in the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of historic interiors. Grants from the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors generally range from $2,500 to $15,000. The selection process is very competitive. The review process is generally completed within three months of the application deadline, and applicants are notified via email once the review process is complete.

  * Grants Deadline (March 1): Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation

The fund aims to save historic environments in order to foster an appreciation of our nation’s diverse cultural heritage and to preserve and revitalize the livability of the nation’s communities. Grants from the Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation generally range from $2,500 to $15,000. The selection process is very competitive. The review process is generally completed within three months of the application deadline, and applicants are notified via email once the review process is complete.
