Subject: Caledonia Historical Society Event

WW II German POW Camps in WI

Matt Carterwill be the guest speaker at the Caledonia Historical Society mo nthly meetingon July 21st at 6:30 pm.  Themeeting will be held in the 1877 Town Hall at the Caledonia Historical Village,7330 5 Mile Rd, just eas t of Hwy 38.

During WW IImore than 400,000 prisoners of war were sent to the United Stat es. Theprisoners were used to offset the labor shortage caused by the more than 12million men and women that were serving their country.   T hepresentation will explore the history of the German POW camps that werepr evalent throughout Wisconsin.
