The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society debuts ā€œPlaces and People of Downtown Mount Horeb.ā€ The second in a series of guided walking tours, this summer’s installment explores the diverse architecture of the Village’s famously charming downtown. Trained tour guides will share the stories behind the Trollway’s buildings—some iconic, some often overlooked; the people who designed and constructed them; and some of their notable residents.

It’s an interactive experience that caters to both architecture buffs and those who simply appreciate local history! Available tour dates include:

  * Tuesday, August 22 @ 5:30 pm
  * Saturday, September 2 @ 10:00 am

No account needed; just provide your contact info! This narrated walking tour begins and ends at the Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St). Arrive a few minutes before the tour starts to check in. Expect to walk approximately 1 mile on sidewalks and across Village streets over the course of about 1.5 hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring water to stay hydrated. Keep in mind that "Places of People of Mount Horeb" is family-friendly, but geared towards an adult audience.

Registration closes 24 hours prior to tour start, and is capped at a maximum of fifteen per tour to ensure a better experience.

Tickets are $5 per person (payable to guide at arrival); MHAHS Members and active duty military/veterans participate for free.
