WI SHPO is partnering with one of our, repository partners the Wisconsin Ma
ritime Museum, on a funded Maritime Heritage Grant project to catalog a col
lection of 10,000+ artifacts recovered from Lake Michigan shipwreck archaeo
logical sites by a private citizen and now in the custody of the state. We
are hiring a two-year, grant-funded position to be the liaison between the
Wisconsin Maritime Museum where the artifacts are housed and the WI SHPO/Wi
sconsin Historical Society as the owner of the artifacts. The position will
process and catalog the artifacts at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Mani
towoc, Wisconsin and coordinate with WI SHPO and Wisconsin Historical Socie
ty Collections division.
