You have the end of a butter stirring paddle. This piece fit into a
longer handle that it protruded at a right angle from the end of. Or,
it might have been used just like it is but its length seems too short
for that. These were used with a large kettle usually out of doors in
the process of boiling down apples to make apple butter preserves
The two end holes have been broken out over time
