The Fond du Lac County Historical Society (FCHS) is inviting Museums and ot
her Historical Societies to look through the buildings and grounds of the H
istoric Galloway House and Village at deaccessioned items for their own col
lection. In past decades FCHS took in donations from many places not assoc
iated with Fond du Lac County or were boxes left at the door with no docume
ntation. These items come from a range of dates and industries.
The grounds will be open April 10-11 from 10am-6pm each day. Appointments
can be made by calling 920-904-1682 or emailing president@fdlhistory.org<ma
ilto:president@fdlhistory.org> for other dates or if you have questions. I
tems can be marked if they are not being transported immediately or arrange
ments need to be made. Paperwork for transfer and deed of gift will be don
e onsite with photos of each item and where they are going for FCHS files.
There is a wide variety and you might find a prop or artifact that you need
to fill your collection. FCHS items will be marked as part of their colle
ction if they have not yet been removed to storage.
