Just to follow up on Zoltan's message: even with the current eclectic
test mix, and nothing but recording following recording it's worth
checking out and better than just about anything else out there, and as
more and more of us add our contributions to the automated files -- and
initial programming
-- as well as very soon thereafter start up our regular shows it should
be a great contribution to the airwaves and to progressive culture and
politics in the area. Spread the word to others--tune in to WHYS, 96.3
FM!

Subject: WHYS community radio is on the air!
SPREAD THE WORD:
Eau Claire's new Community Radio Station
WHYS went on the air at about 12:15 pm today
at 96.3 FM.
The station's first sounds were a rooster
crowing a wake-up call, and Jimi Hendrix
playing the Star-Spangled Banner.
The station is now only playing programmed
music, but will gradually introduce locally hosted
music, talk, and hybrid shows, and syndicated
public affair and cultural programs.
To get involved, log on http://www.WHYSradio.org ,
e-mail WHYS@WHYSradio.org , or write
PO Box 1844, Eau Claire WI 54702.
The studio is in Suite 23 of the Kappus
Building downtown at 405 Farwell; meetings
are posted on the website.
E-mail Dan Drumm at the station to get
on the mailing list or offer help in the
on-going construction of the studio.
Congratulations to all of those
who made this day possible!
