So much for "Honest pay for an honest day's work..........!" And all this at a time when average pay for CEOs is $10.4 million per annum........!!!

TAUWP members (AFT Local 3535) received a similar notice. This
"contribution" constitutes a 1-1/2% pay cut for all faculty, academic staff and unrepresented classified (civil service) employees. Last year it was health insurance, now it's pensions. These are not merely
"benefits": health insurance and pensions are part of our pay. We earn them. Wisconsin workers are being robbed of just compensation for their labor.

Kimamo,

Here's an excerpt from our Union Newsletter. Did you know about this??

Unrepresented Employees to Lose Portion of State Pension Contribution Under the Senate amendment, the state would not cover the first 1.5% of employee earnings under the Wisconsin Retirement System for unrepresented employees. While this provision does not pertain to state employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, it sets a very alarming tone of the direction the state legislature may be heading. AFSCME urges members to contact the Governor's office and their legislators and tell them of your opposition to the state reducing it's contribution to employee pensions.
