Hello all.

The Mineral Point Press is pleased to announce a special speaking engagement at the historic Mineral Point Opera House in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Saturday, June 7, 2008, from 2-4. Professor Jason Coomes of Rural Studio, based in Newbern, Alabama, will hold a lecture and Q & A session on the legacy of Samuel Mockbee and an Architecture of Decency.

The Rural Studio is a design and build architecture studio run by Auburn University which teaches its students about the social responsibilities of the profession of architecture while also providing safe, well-constructed and inspirational homes and buildings. The studio was founded in 1993 by architects Samuel Mockbee and D. K. Ruth.

Enclosed is a two-page PDF including event poster, additional information about Rural Studio and Professor Jason Coomes, and an introduction to Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
