Old Settler's Banquet Celebrates Town of Erin

The Town of Erin will be honored by the Washington County Historical Society at the 2009 Old Settler's Banquet. This special event will be held at the Erin Elementary School located at 6901 highway O on Sunday, February 15. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with a catered luncheon served at 12:00p.m.

The Old Settler's Banquet has been a community celebration since the society's beginnings as the "Old Settler's Club" in 1873. At that time a group of area settler's began meeting once a year at the Washington House in downtown West Bend. They would gather for a meal, and reminisce about their sojourn to the area. This banquet evolved over the years to become a way to honor the history of the area's vibrant communities. The Erin Historical Society is a new organization that stewards the rich history of Erin.

Everyone is invited to attend this fun and informative event. Featured this year are special historical displays and a program immediately following the luncheon. The cost to attend the Old Settler's Banquet is $16 per person. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Washington County Historical Society at 262-335-4678. Seating is limited to 200, so call early. Reservations should be made no later than February 9.
