"Dancing With The Stars" Meets History
Take a two-step back in time as the UWWC Ballroom Dance Club presents "Dance
Through History." This unique program takes place at the Old Courthouse
Museum on Saturday, May 2. Doors open at 6:15p.m., with the performance
beginning at 7:00p.m. Admission is $5 per adults. Students and children 12
and under free.
This is the first time a multi-media program like this has been performed at
the Old Courthouse Museum. It combines the entertainment and excitement of
live performance with music and a special PowerPoint presentation. Guests
will be treated to outstanding dance performances married with music and the
history of the era when the dance was popular. Some of the dances planned
are the Charleston, Tango, Salsa, and Foxtrot. Each has their own history
and represents key events in the country and Washington County.
The UWWC Ballroom Dance Club is led by Professor Michael Mattek. For more
information regarding this special event, please contact Washington County
Historical Society's Director of Marketing and Development, Lisa Rogers at
262-335-4678.
