Free Family Fun at the Old Courthouse
The Washington County Historical Society presents Living History Encampment
Family Day. This free journey back in time takes place Saturday, May 9,
from 9:30a.m. - 2:00p.m. at the Old Courthouse Museum.
This is a unique opportunity to visit Washington County as it was seen by
the early settlers. Visit with an early blacksmith, and learn why being a
"smithy" was important. Learn about the women of the frontier, and what
their life was like. Enter a fur trader's "lodge" to see the many
fascinating trade goods that were an integral part of early frontier life.
The event also includes music, a plains trader, and a flint knapper. Don't
miss all six frontier camps.
This special event will be held rain or shine. For more information,
contact Jessica Sawinski-Couch at 262-335-4678.
