Lumberjack Lore at the Old Courthouse Museum
Kids entering first through fifth grades this fall are invited to a fun
interactive Lumberjack program at the Old Courthouse Museum. This visit to
the wild and woodsy world of the Lumberjack takes place Thursday, August 13,
beginning at 8:45 a.m.
This face paced and fun morning includes Lumberjack Lore, themed crafts,
square dancing, snacks, and other activities. Guest presenters Mary
Holleback and Lauren Wendland from Riveredge Nature Center will present a
program on making maple syrup Forester Judy Peltier from the Pike Lake Unit
Kettle Moraine State Forest will discuss the different types of trees native
to the area. Susan Kist will share Lumberjack tales, and kids will enjoy
"stove lids" (pancakes) and syrup.
The cost is only $6 per child, and reservations are required by August 7.
Each year the Washington County Historical Society presents a different
Pioneer Kids Day for kids to enjoy. To sign up for this program please call
