Don't Miss Your Chance To Be Scared To Death!

The spirits are restless at the Washington County Historical Society as they prepare for "Ghosts of Washington County." This screaming good time is Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. The cost is only $5 per person.

This year's event features an all new "haunted" jail tour including original jail history, scary surprises, and lots of fun. The tour is longer this year, and includes the Kettle Moraine Paranormal Investigation (KMPI). KMPI has investigated the unusual happenings at the Old Sheriff's Residence and Jail, but the spirits have been elusive. Take a tour to see if the ghosts will show themselves. Friday evening jail tours are available from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reservations are required.

Also new this year are tours designed especially for the little ghosts and goblins on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. These tours are for children 8 and under and include sweet Halloween treats.

The screaming continues Saturday evening with haunted jail tours from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and don't miss the spine-tingling stories penned by local author Dave Rank. Mr. Rank is a journalist in West Bend and is also a published short story author. Another scary treat is the dramatization of Edgar Allen Poe's, "The Cask of Amantillado" featuring students from the University of Wisconsin - Washington County. These two special presentations begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Courthouse Museum. Jail tours resume afterwards. This is an exciting way for the whole family to celebrate Halloween. All proceeds support the Washington County Historical Society.

Because of the frightening nature of this event, reservations are required. Please call the Washington County Historical Society at 262-335-4678 to make yours - if you dare!
