Director, Wisconsin Field Office
The Midwest Office is seeking an historic preservation professional for a m
idlevel position of Wisconsin Field Office Director. The successful candid
ate will assume primary responsibility for inquiries and interventions in a
ll Wisconsin communities, except Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. The dir
ector will work from a home office based in Wisconsin and will be expected
to travel extensively throughout the state.
Candidates should have a Masters Degree in Historic Preservation or three o
r more years of experience in historic preservation. Strong interpersonal
skills and the ability to be self-motivated and self-directed are critical.
Maturity of judgment and the ability to discern needs of the field are mo
st helpful. Writing and public speaking skills are valuable. Familiarity
with MS Office applications is essential.
In addition to general knowledge of historic preservation processes and pro
cedures, credentials or experience in the following related fields will str
engthen a candidacy:
* Organizational Development
* Non-profit fundraising
* Planning / Community Development
* Preservation, Environmental, or Real Estate Law
