The Waushara County Historical Society will hold their annual open house at
the museum located at 221 S Saint Marie St. in Wautoma from 10 a.m. to 3 p
.m. The museum has been decorated for Christmas and the Halloween display i
s still up in the attic.
A string ensemble will perform holiday music from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Come and see the new Marjorie Rawson display and visit with her son George
and family. For a $30.00 donation to the Waushara County Historical Societ
y you can get a copy of "The World at My Door" by Marjorie Rawson which was
published in 1973. Only five copies of this book are available at the muse
um.
Refreshments and cookies will be served. There is a Christmas Boutique in t
he first room of the jail section with two tables of new and used Christmas
items for sale. We also have other books and pamphlets available. There ar
e a number of brochures available by the main entrance.
The museum will be open for tours and research. Tours of the museum take ap
proximately one hour, so the last tour will begin at 2 p.m.
Regular research hours at the museum are Monday, Wednesday and Fri
day mornings from 8 to 10:30 a.m., and Monday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. T
he museum is open for tours or research Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.
m. with the last tour beginning at 3 p.m.
