Wisconsin Archaeology and Your Collections

ardt, President of the Wisconsin Archaeological Society, and John Broihahn,
Wisconsin State Archaeologist
Learn about your Wisconsin archaeology collections and how to care for them
. This workshop will present an overview of Wisconsin Archaeology and how
to identify and care for artifacts in your collections. NAGPRA issues will
be discussed and resource and reference handouts will be provided.
Here is your chance to learn by doing. Attendees will work with professiona
l archaeologists to identify their collections and participants are strongl
y invited to bring up to 50 Wisconsin archaeological items and copies of an
y catalog forms for this purpose. Tours of selected sites (Effigy Mounds N
ational Monument, Villa Louis, Larson’s Cave rockshelter with rock art, a
nd/or Fort Crawford Medical Museum, etc.) will also be offered depending on
interest. Attendance is limited to 35.
Cost:
WFM Member or WHS Affiliate member $35.00
Non-Member (includes WFM membership) $60.00
