Continuing Education to offer leadership certificate programs for nonprofit
 professionals

EAU CLAIRE - University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Ext ension will offer two different leadership series for nonprofit professiona ls. The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Series<http://www.uwec.edu/CE/prog rams/nonprofit/nlcs/npleader.htm> is designed for nonprofit staff members w ho seek a broad overview of nonprofit management. The Volunteer Impact Lead ership Training Series<http://www.uwec.edu/CE/programs/nonprofit/volunteer. htm> is designed to increase skills and abilities in working with volunteer
s. Individuals may take any number of workshops individually or sign up for
 the full series and receive a certificate.

"We hope to offer nonprofit professionals the opportunity to sharpen their skills and connect with one another," said Nikki Andrews, an outreach speci alist in Continuing Education, who is leading the effort. "As the nonprofit
 sector continues to evolve, it is critical that we not only increase our c ompetence but that we connect with one another to build a strong base of su pport for nonprofits in west central Wisconsin."

All workshops in the Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Series run from 9 a.m
.-4 p.m. Individual program dates, topics and Eau Claire locations are:

 * "Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management," Sept. 14, Holiday Inn-Campus A rea.
 * "Nonprofit Strategic Planning," Oct. 12, Sleep Inn & Suites Conference
 Center.
 * "Nonprofit Financial Management and Reporting," Nov. 9, Plaza Hotel & Suites Conference Center.
 * "Nonprofit Board Development and Management," Jan. 11, 2011, Best West ern Trail Lodge Hotel & Suites.
 * "Nonprofit Fundraising," Feb. 8, 2011, Sleep Inn & Suites Conference C enter.
 * "Nonprofit Marketing and Communications," March 8, 2011, The Florian G ardens.

The cost for Nonprofit Leadership Series workshops is $99 per workshop or $ 570 for the series for those who register for all the workshops at same tim e.

All programs in the Volunteer Impact Leadership Training Series run from 1- 4:45 p.m. at the Best Western Trail Lodge Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire. Ind ividual program dates and topics are:

 * Session 1, Sept. 30, "Capturing Volunteer Motivation and Conducting Ef fective Interviews" and "Planning for Retention."
 * Session 2, Oct. 1, "Recruiting Volunteers" and "Managing Risk."
 * Session 3, Oct. 28, "Supervising Volunteers" and "Positioning Your Vol unteer Program for Success."
 * Session 4, Nov. 11, "Singing Your Praises ... Measuring Your Impact" a nd "Recognizing Volunteers."

The cost for Volunteer Impact Leadership Training Series workshops is $59 p er workshop or $199 for the series for those who register for all the works hops at same time.
