A Visit With Mary Todd Lincoln
Everyone is invited to enjoy a sparkling evening experiencing Jessica
Michna's portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln. This special event takes place
Tuesday, September 21, at 7:00p.m., at the Old Courthouse Museum.
Mary Todd Lincoln was one of the most enigmatic women to reside in the White
House. Daughter of a Lexington Kentucky banker, Mary was an outspoken and
vivacious young woman. She was courted by Stephen Douglas but chose to
Marry Abraham Lincoln. Her years in the White House were shadowed by the
tragedy of personal loss and the horrors of the Civil War.
Ms. Michna's portrayal brings this interesting character from history to
life. You will laugh at her anecdotes of being married to one of the most
famous presidents in the United States and cry at the losses she endured.
This very special evening is $3 per person. Washington County Historical
Society members are free. For more information, please call Jessica Couch
at the Washington County Historical Society at 262-335-4678.
