An old hospital gurney has been found in the basement of what use to be Mem
orial Hospital in Wausau. The building is now apartments and the owners ar
e cleaning out. The gurney will be destroyed if we don't find a home for i
t. Unfortunately, we cannot add it to our collection at this time.
The gurney is 72 in long, 34 in high and 23 in wide. It is all steel. The t
op lifts off using the 4 corner handles and it then sits on the four triang
ular small feet. I think it dates from the 20's or 30's. Memorial opened in
1924. This seems to be the only artifact left.
