Ruth:
At Tomah Area Historical Society's Annual meeting in January we voted to
eliminate Lifetime memberships as suggested by the State Historical
Society. Our dues are $7.00 for one person and $12.00 per family. We
also have Business memberships for $25.00 a year, which includes other
organizations such as Lions, KC's, etc. Total membership is only about
115.
Our Membership letter goes out April 1st, most have renewed, but I have
several new members this year, due to increased programs and
fundraisers. Dues are only a small portion of our income, we also
run an annual appeal in the fall. We also receive local grants, in
addition we usually do about 3 fundraisers a year.

We are interested in knowing what your present membership dues are and
if you have more than one class of dues. Do you have a lifetime
membership class?? We are contemplating a proposed increase in dues
with our next budget. Has the downturn in the economy made a difference
in your membership retention or other monetary donations to your
organization?
Thank you for your comments.
