Geister is very good. There’s another named Arn Kind, who ran a similar
program for many years. He’s a teacher in Mankato, and what he does is
geared for upper elementary and middle school kids. Here’s Arn’s websi

Subject: Civil War Volunteer Needed
Dear All:
We are currently planning a Sept. 10, 2011 Civil War children's Union Sol
dier Training Camp, but are still in need on one vital element--a Civil W
ar reenactor/enthusiast/expert, preferably one with a Civil War uniform.
Part of the day's activities are to include a marching and drill exercise
, which the children will then perform for their families at the end of t
he day. We would really appreciate having someone to lead this activity. (
Each child will be "issued" a wooden rifle and soldier's cap to help them g
et "into character" for the day, and these "props" will also be used for
the end-of-day review for their families.)
My staff, volunteers and myself feel fairly comfortable leading the rest
of the day's activities, but the marching and drill work would be an enti
rely new thing for all of us.
If you know of anyone with the Civil War knowledge and skills who might be
willing to help us out, please let me know ASAP by phone (608-742-6362) o
r email (destineekae@hotmail.com) . We do have a small amount of money ava
ilable to help offset traveling expenses for such an individual, if that
is an issue.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide!
Best Wishes,
