Before television, before internet, before smart phones, there was RADIO!
In the 1930's and 1940's families would gather around the radio and let
their imagination soar. Radio dramas and comedies were the entertainment of
the times. If you were lucky enough to live near a radio station you might
even sit in the audience as a live radio show was produced. Now you can
relive that experience as the Caledonia Historical Society teams up once
again with RG Productions to recreate a live radio program.
On Saturday, June 21 at 1:00 PM have a seat in the 1877 Old Town Hall.
Watch and listen as actors recreate baseball themed radio skits including
the famous Abbott & Costello "Who's on First" routine.
This is a free event but seating will be limited so get there early. Or,
sit outside and picnic, we will pipe the audio outdoors for your
convenience.
While you are there, walk over to the 1902 Depot and bid on our Silent
Auction or pick up some goodies at the bake sale.
We are easy to find. Linwood Park is located on 5 Mile Road, just east of
Hwy 38.
