THE WISCONSIN COUNCIL FOR LOCAL HISTORY ANNOUNCES AWARD' PROGRAM
The Wisconsin Council for Local History is in the process of establishing a
n awards program to recognize and honor individual volunteers who through t
heir efforts in time and talent contribute to the advancement, appreciation
and preservation of Wisconsin's local history heritage.
There will be two types of awards; a Certificate of Recognition, and an Ach
ievement Award. This program will be introduced at the Fall Convention, an
d implemented in stages. At the 2017 Convention, Certificates of Recogniti
on will be awarded, and information on the Achievement Awards will be provi
ded. Beginning with the 2018 Convention, recipients for both levels of the
program will be recognized and honored.
To receive a Certificate of Recognition a volunteer must contribute 150 hou
rs or more to any project and/or activity within the period from May 1, 201
6 to September 4, 2017. Local affiliates' are asked to keep a record of vo
lunteer hours; to include a brief description of the activity, or project,
the volunteer participated in. Nomination forms will be available at, and a
