Program: Hardcore History: The 100th Anniversary of Flag Day
Green Bay, WI---June 7, 2016---On Tuesday, June 14, Thomas Saharsky will gi
ve a presentation on the 100th Anniversary of Flag day at the Neville Publi
c Museum of Brown County as part of our Hardcore History series.
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson established June 14 as Flag Day to commem
orate the adoption of "the stars and stripes" by the Continental Congress a
t Independence Hall in 1777. This year also marks the 66th anniversary of A
ppleton's Flag Day parade, the nation's oldest. Join us for a reading of Wi
lson's Proclamation No. 1335 on the museum's grounds, to be followed with a
presentation on the history and significance of the holiday. Reading by Ma
gistrate Judge Sickel and presentation by Thomas Saharsky.
